Event Description
The Red Tower on Foss Islands Road is reopening after a long closure while the property has been reroofed. York Environment Week is an early opportunity to enjoy a building whose 530-year history has just been given a new lease of life.
The former military fort is now a community facility for the local area around Navigation Road and beyond. Tea, coffee and cakes will be available via an outdoor cafe on the lawn. No booking necessary.
Note: there is wheelchair access to the garden of the Red Tower and food is brought to tables so all catering is fully available.
We run a food service on Mondays for the local community and donations will help us supplement food that is collected from local stores, and it will help towards running costs of the facility.
