Event Description
Join us on this year’s Global Day of Action to take part in a peaceful, inclusive, family-friendly event. We aim to draw attention to the campaign to Make Polluters Pay for the Loss and Damage they have caused to countries in the Global South.
This event will include:
- street stall with info’ about the Loss and Damage campaign
- reading of a testimonial from a young Rwandan woman describing her experience
- periods of silence to bear witness to people all over the world who have experienced loss and damage through floods, wildfires, extreme weather events and sea level rises
- singing of easy to learn songs.
- creative dance performance about climate justice and climate racism.
- signing of letter to PM Sunak asking him to compel UK-based polluters to make payments into the UN Loss and Damage Fund.
This event is wheelchair accessible. There is blue badge parking at the Foss Bank car park, a short distance from the venue.
