Weedy Walk

September 28, 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

A walk around Bishophill and Scarcroft to identify wild flowers and so called weeds growing that aren’t in gardens or planted areas.

We will remark on their diversity and abundance and consider their value as part of the web of life (eco systems). We will also consider their many aesthetic and functional qualities, and think about what ‘weeds’ we can tolerate growing in pavements and walls and road edges so that toxic herbicides aren’t used.

The walk is on pavements, some of which are a bit bumpy, but generally accessible to wheelchairs and buggies.

Secondary school age children or older.

Booking required, email laurapotts@phonecoop.coop
