As we reach the final week of a bumper programme, York Environment Weeks is almost over for another year. Make sure you check out some of the last events on offer.

Tuesday 8th October and Tuesday 15th October, 7-8pm: Art in creation @ York Minster

An opportunity to reflect upon environmental issues globally and locally, by using art as a starting point for discussion and reflection. Perfect for those wanting to explore these issues in a different way using art as a springboard.

Whether you’re a storyteller, writer, policymaker, sustainability professional, teacher, or simply passionate about the environment, join this workshop that transforms ecological understanding into an engaging experience.

Thursday 10th October, 10am-12pm: Climate change, Health and the Role of the VCSE Sector

This session will bring together public health experts and those in the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in York to explore why climate change is a public health issue, its impact on York and how health fits into it. Priory Street Centre

Thursday 10th October, 7-8pm: Climate and Nature Hubs for York?

Come along to this interactive workshop to share your views on whether York should have a network of neighbourhood groups and physical spaces to support community action impacting climate and nature.

Saturday 12th October, 1-5pm: St Nicks Autumn Fayre

Come to a celebration of nature’s harvest and the environment. With live music throughout along with foraging walks, apple pressing, woodland adventures, circus skills, Qigong, crafts, tombolas, cake stalls, refreshments from local breweries and distilleries and more.

York Bike Belles Autumn Nature Programme, until 8th December

This programme is free and inclusive for all ages and abilities of York Residents. There’s weekly walks, rides, workshops and supported rides for those with reduced mobility, every week for 10 weeks. 

Tuesday 12th November, 7pm: Cli-mic night at Spark

Calling all singers, poets, writers, performers! Come and take part in a climate-focused open mic night. Meet like-minded people and share your skills.
