Green for Now and for the Future: Eco Fair (St Mary’s Church, Haxby)

September 21 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

North York Church are hosting a series of events across York as part of York Environment Weeks. There are a wide range of activities over a number of sites—talks, upcycling workshops, nature trails, a Repair Café, a Reflection Space and Lego Church.

So much to do and something for everyone!

Come along to St Mary’s Church in Haxby between 10:00 and 15:00 on Saturday 21st September and take part in one of these activities:

Drop-in: R U an Eco warrior?

  • 10:00 – 15:00

Our Eco Warrior ‘Scarecrow’ is asking for green promises for now and for the future! Why not leave your green pledges on our super-hero? An all-age activity.

Drop-in: Oasis

  • 10:00 – 15:00

Oasis is a place to relax, reflect and refresh. In the centre of our busy village, we are offering an opportunity to enjoy a quiet space, to take time out to contemplate the natural world and consider our responsibility to creation. Suitable for all ages but children should be accompanied by an adult. You can also enjoy the time with nature in the churchyard.

Drop-in: Eco-Crafting Workshops

  • 10:00 – 15:00

Try your hand at imaginative ways of recycling everyday items, guided by proficient local crafters, as we aim for zero-waste and better sustainability. Children must be accompanied by an adult, as some crafts may be fiddly and unsuitable for smaller children.

All events are free, but you’re welcome to make a donation on the day to help cover the cost of putting the event on.
